February 2018.
Primary day of shooting. Fist boudoir video we were producing was on the docket.
And it was a great day. We could not have picked a better client and collaborator.
The boudoir video session was on-location is a small AirBnB instead of in our studio. Sun streaked through the windows of the small cottage, one of our favorite ways to light.
Fast forward four months and we are finally done with the final cut of the boudoir video. And we love it.
My background in cinematography needed some dusting off. Pair that with a handful of events that took place on the personal side (future podcast discussion!), and time and tasks started to stack up, a backlog of to-dos and to-don’ts.
A recognizable feeling always comes over us when we complete a project of this size. It is the same feeling I get after spending hours organizing a room which has been sorely neglected. There were late nights in high school when I would walk into my bedroom at 10:00, survey the long overdue, disheveled mess, and get the urge for deep cleaning. This always meant purging a whole mess of stuff that had not seen the light of days for months (I experience visceral pleasure throwing things away!). At the end of the job – nearly always 3 or 4 0’clock in the morning), I would stand back and appraise the job.
I couldn’t get enough of just looking at how organized and tidy everything was. How simple and clutter-free.
I’ve watched this video multiple times. I can’t stop. It’s the same experience with the clean room: we just enjoy seeing how all the work, planning, collaboration, and creativity have come together. And it is only 4 minutes! We look forward to producing our next boudoir video, but for now, we are happy this one is in the books!
Enjoy!
